O Come Let Us Adore Him. There is room in the stable to celebrate together. We’ll hear the story of the night Jesus was born, listen to music, sing songs together, and file outdoors with our candles to sing some more and see the live nativity. Yes, real people and animals representing the Christmas story.
NO WORSHIP SERVICE Christmas Day morning. Instead, we will gather at 4pm for a special Vespers service.
Christmas Day, First United will not hold a morning worship service. Instead, we will gather at 4pm for a special Vespers service of prayer, singing and sharing our Christmas traditions.

Common Earth Community Garden Steering Committee meets to look at upcoming events for 2017, the Calendar for 2017, a Newsletter update, and Lessons learned from 2016.
A HOPEFUL EARTH: FAITH, SCIENCE, AND THE MESSAGE OF JESUS is a study of the “creation crisis” as addressed by a Methodist Bishop and her scientific niece. It provides specific information about our endangered earth as well as Biblical understanding of Jesus message, thereby bringing a spiritual meaning to our understanding of the crisis of planet earth as well as our response. This Adult Study begins Sunday, January , 8:30 AM. Everybody is invited and welcome. Study books are available: see Robbie Martin.
Children (elementary age) & youth (middle & high school) stay for the first 20 minutes or so, then are dismissed to Worship & Wonder and Youth Sunday School. (Nursery provided.)
