Ministry for Children
- Nursery Childcare is provided for infants through four years on Sunday mornings, 9:45AM–11:30AM, and for special events or meetings as needed.
- Kids’ Worship and Wonder – Preschool-5th Grade:
An imaginative approach for telling Bible stories that invites children to wonder about themselves, God, and the world in a way that is playful and meaningful to them. - Vacation Bible School: Opportunity for all ages to gather together for an evening or more for Vacation Bible fun. VBS themes vary each summer, all ages included, neighborhood invited.
Ministry for Youth
- Youth Group (6th-12th graders) meets periodically for fellowship, food and fun; sharing their faith story through interactive games, community participation, and other activities relevant to being a teenager in today’s world.
- Acolytes attend training and serve as acolytes for Sunday worship.
- Confirmation classes for 7th, 8th, and 9th-graders.
- Mission Opportunities: Youth of First United participate in a yearly summer mission trip in addition to various mission & service projects throughout the year. Youth participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring in February, and host the Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for mission in April.
Ministry for Adults
- Adult Study Classes Sunday Mornings.
- Monthly Book Club.
Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the Memorial Scholarship is to nurture a mind or talent that might otherwise be neglected. The award, to be given annually by the First United Church of Arvada, will be granted to a person who shows a clear direction towards making a contribution to humanity. Here’s an example of the scholarship details & application, which is awarded each May. Applications are typically due in April.

Common Earth Community Garden
Common Earth Community Garden began in earnest early in 2015. Find a bit of its history here. Current information is available on the Community Garden’s website and Facebook page. You can also check the Upcoming Events page of this website for news.
Mission statement: Common Earth Community Garden is established to grow and distribute vegetables, provide a source of wholesome food to local food banks, provide nutritional and cultural education for youth, a place of fellowship for multi-generational families, and outreach to our diverse neighbors on this shared common earth.
Labyrinth
In 2024, our congregation completed construction for a labyrinth open to the community.
