Nursery Childcare
Childcare is provided for infants through five years old on Sunday mornings, 9:45AM–11:30AM. If childcare is needed for special events or meetings please contact the church office at least one week in advance.
Elementary age children begin worshiping with their families in the sanctuary. About 20 minutes into the service, they’re invited to leave for these classes:
Worship & Wonder for Kindergarten-3rd grade
Join us in an imaginative approach for telling Bible stories that invites children to wonder about God, themselves, and the world in a way that is playful and meaningful for their age group. Our volunteer storyteller and leaders encourage children to participate in worship practices; listen and interact with the Bible story; then respond to the story through a variety of creative activities. Children to use their curiosity and imagination to experience the mystery and joy of God. Find videos of Godly Play stories on their .
Engage & Explore for Grades 4-6+
A 4th grade and up class was added in Fall of 2023 with its own curriculum. This class is offered about 3 times a month by volunteer teachers. Weeks class does not meet, kids stay in worship with their families. (Some quiet activity materials will be on hand for use in their seats, or bring your own.) for questions.
Summer Sunday School
Over the summer (June-August), regular Sunday classes take a break, and we offer Summer Sunday School with activities led by various members of the congregation. These have included handbells for the kids, bookmark making, special stories, art and animals, weaving, and gardening.
Christmas Eve Live Nativity and Easter Egg Hunt
Special Events and Family Fun Night
Throughout the year, First United celebrates holy days through worship and special gatherings; particularly in the seasons of Advent and Lent. On Palm Sunday, the children decorate their bikes or scooters and parade throughout the parking lot after Sunday worship; there’s an egg hunt on Easter Sunday. During Advent we have a Spiral Garden Candle Walk for the children; Christmas Eve, children are invited to participate as angels, shepherds or animals in the live nativity. Palm Sunday Bike Parade and Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night is an opportunity for all ages to gather together for an evening of playing together in June. Dinner has been either a potluck or a bring-your-own meal. We simply play games together, either board games or outdoor games, depending on the weather. Please for more information.
