Calendar
First United Church of Arvada is open for in-person Worship in addition to offering our services over Zoom. For in-person services, masks are optional. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask or are not feeling well, we encourage you to continue to wear a mask on Sunday mornings or join us via Zoom. Request Zoom link here.
The nursery is open. Elementary age kids will be invited to leave the worship service partway through to attend Worship & Wonder. Kids are always welcome in the sanctuary with you or, if you prefer, you can bring your child(ren) to the foyer and still participate in the service, but with some extra wiggle room.
For those who have a desire to know more about our denomination, the United Church of Christ, as well as, our own congregation, we will be having a brief orientation to U.C.C. history, theology, and polity and to the programs and worship at our own individual congregation. We will meet at the Church on Saturday, March 4 at 10 am for coffee and conversation. It would also give us all a chance to get to know each other a bit.
Adult Ed invites you to their book study at 8:30am Sunday mornings (before worship). Join us in the Fireside Room as we talk about Speak with the Earth and It Will Teach You – a Field Guide to the Bible by Daniel Cooperrider, published by the Pilgrim Press. We expect it to continue through the end of March. (And you’re welcome even if you haven’t read the book!)

An orientation for Worship & Wonder for grown-ups will take place on March 12 after Worship. This is for volunteers who want to help AND for parents/grandparents/other interested adults who want to see what Worship & Wonder is about! Come back to the Worship & Wonder area after the service, and Sue Miller will show you through the important stuff! It’ll take about 20 minutes.
Book Club is reading The Book Woman’s Daughter by Kim Michele Richardson for their March meeting on Friday March 17 at 1pm a member’s home. Books are available for checkout from the church (on the Welcome Table Sunday mornings). Please contact the church office for more information.
In advance of Palm Sunday and Easter, Building & Property will be hosting an indoor Clean-Up Day on Saturday, March 18 from 9am to noon. We’ll tackle some dusting, wiping down and vacuuming of those areas of the church that need it. We hope you can join us! We’ll have snacks and some good fellowship while we clean. Contact the Church Office with any questions!
