- Today is Back to Sunday School Sunday for the children & youth. They’ll have a special celebration together and with their separate elementary age & youth Sunday schools when they’re dismissed partway through the service.
An IAF (Industrial Areas Foundation) Neighborhood Gather for the Arvada Community will be at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 7755 Vance Dr., Arvada, on Wednesday September 13, 6:30 – 8:30pm. This is a grassroots coalition of schools, congregations, and neighbors working together for the common good of the neighborhoods that are served by the Arvada Schools. The topic for this is “How to Organize a Core Team.”
The book “Grounded: Finding God in the World” by Diana Butler Bass, a leading commentator on religion, politics and culture, will be the source of our fall Adult Study. We’ll explore and meditate upon the idea of a “more intimate sense of the Sacred that is with us in the world”, a shift from a vertical understanding of God.
Pastor Karin will introduce us to the study on September 17 (Genesis). Each week for the following five weeks we will focus on our natural habitat – (:dirt, water, sky) and human geography (roots, home, neighborhood, commons).
Books are available in hardback and online from Cokesbury Press, Amazon, and other book sellers. Not required for participation.

It’s the 2nd Annual Common Earth Community Garden Festival with music by Zzyzx. Potluck this year with Fried Chicken and sandwiches provided by Garden and everyone is asked to provide side dish or dessert.
