All-Church Clean-up Day
May 7 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

An All Church Clean-Up Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 7 from 9 to noon. There will be work, both inside and outside, weather permitting.  There’s a list posted on the table at the church entrance and in the fireside room with items for your consideration. If May 7 doesn’t work for you and another time would be better, let Bill Martin, Trustee-Facilities, know.

Work on the list includes:

  • vacuuming red sanctuary chairs
  • washing windows, inside and out
  • polishing pulpit & organ
  • cleaning patio & installing the umbrellas
  • rake/blow leaves in Columbarium
  • use weedeater where necessary
  • mow the north & west lawn

“Just Eating”-a class for Adults
May 8 @ 8:45 am – 9:45 am

“Just Eating” is a play on words that this new class will examine as it explores the opportunity to thoughtfully live out our faith and practice justice as we “just eat”.

We will use scripture, prayer and stories to explore five key aspects of our relationship to food:
Food sharing as sacramental
The health of our bodies
The access others have to food
The health of the earth
The ways we use food to extend hospitality and enrich relationships

Quilt Display & Sale
May 8 @ 8:45 am – 12:00 pm

The quilting group will display and sell quilts we have accumulated over the year on Sunday May 8 (moved from May 1 because of the wet weather). Pick up a gift for Mother’s Day, for a new baby or a nice lap cover for yourself or someone in a wheelchair. Most of the quilts sell for $25, which is a donation to the church and is much appreciated. Actually, we always have some on hand if you have a need. You can ask Gail Goodman or Emogene Meier for a showing any time.

FYI: The Quilters meet periodically throughout the year.  If you are interested in joining them, please contact the church. Don’t be frightened off by the thought that you don’t know how to quilt, because we are actually just tying the quilts and all you have to do is tie knots. They are small, lap or crib size, usually. We tie several each time and they are usually given to charity or people we know who are ill or disabled or have a new baby. Join us whenever you like.

This is an event sponsored by the Common Earth Community Garden. Think about what you want to offer from your heart to Mother Earth to give Thanks.  It doesn’t have to be a physical object -but you can bring seeds, seashells, herbs, flowers, whatever represents your love.  You can bring a song to sing from your heart or prayer.  Please bring a chair if standing or sitting on the ground is difficult for you.
