Prayers and Bell Ringing for Jan. 19, 2021
The Presidential Inauguration Committee has invited cities and towns across this nation to join with their commemoration in Washington, D.C., by ringing church bells at 5:30 p.m. ET (which is 3:30 p.m. our part of the country), today, Tuesday Jan. 19, 2021, in a national moment of unity and remembrance for victims of Covid 19.
Let us, at First United Church of Arvada, join with churches and all places of worship across our nation to honor the over 400,000 who have died from Covid 19 and to grieve their loss together. We will ring our church bell 40 times at 3:30 pm. Please pause in your day, light a candle or ring a bell and offer your own prayers of lament and prayers of commitment to bringing an end to this pandemic and rebuilding our nation.
Pastor Karin
