“Just Eating” is a play on words that this new class will examine as it explores the opportunity to thoughtfully live out our faith and practice justice as we “just eat”.
We will use scripture, prayer and stories to explore five key aspects of our relationship to food:
Food sharing as sacramental
The health of our bodies
The access others have to food
The health of the earth
The ways we use food to extend hospitality and enrich relationships

Lakota Sioux Blessing Ceremony for the Common Earth Community Garden performed by Dr. Patty Luckenbach–Sunday, May 15th, 2 p.m.
This is an event sponsored by the Common Earth Community Garden. Think about what you want to offer from your heart to Mother Earth to give Thanks. It doesn’t have to be a physical object -but you can bring seeds, seashells, herbs, flowers, whatever represents your love. You can bring a song to sing from your heart or prayer. Please bring a chair if standing or sitting on the ground is difficult for you.
This is the May meeting of the Board of Fishers.

Common Earth Community Garden Steering committee meeting is at 6pm on May 24. (This is a date & time change from May 21.) Many decisions need to be made for upcoming grant, and expenditures, connections with community vendors to donate, permits….
If you’re a quilter or a would-be quilter, you’re welcome to join us for a good time and for a good cause as we tie our quilts. The next one is Thursday May 26, from 1pm-3pm. (Gail Goodman or Emogene Meier would be happy to answer any questions you have.)
FYI: The Quilters meet periodically throughout the year. If you are interested in joining them, please contact the church. Don’t be frightened off by the thought that you don’t know how to quilt, because we are actually just tying the quilts and all you have to do is tie knots. They are small, lap or crib size, usually. We tie several each time and they are usually given to charity or people we know who are ill or disabled or have a new baby. Join us whenever you like.
