We will be learning from and discussing Days of Awe and Wonder by Marcus Borg. Books available at libraries or purchased. We will start with first chapter on April 15, but please come join the discussion, any week, whether you have read it or not! This promises to be stimulating. Subtitle, “Plan to be a Christian in the 21st Century.” Louise Brown will facilitate. We’ll talk about this book through May 20th.
Children stay for the first 20 minutes or so, then are dismissed for Worship & Wonder (K-6th grade). Youth (middle & high school) stay in the service today. (Nursery provided.)
Worship concludes about 11:00AM, with coffee and fellowship afterward.

Details and the application form are here. Scholarship is open to anyone of any age who will have completed high school by the time the scholarship will be used. Recipient must be a member of a family belonging to First United, or sponsored by a member of First United. Application must be completed by April 29. Sunday morning May 6 at 8:30am, the Adult Ed class will discuss: What is your understanding of and experience with issues of mental health? It’s an opportunity to reflect on our own relationship to this topic in advance of hearing Andrew Romanoff from Mental Health Colorado speak Sunday evening at 6:30pm. All are welcome. (The discussion of the book Days of Awe & Wonder resumes May 13.)

Andrew Romanoff, President and CEO of Mental Health Colorado, will be our guest speaker on May 6 at 6:30pm. Part of the mission of Mental Health Colorado is to educate the public and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illness. Andrew Romanoff will discuss with us his knowledge about the nature and prevalence of mental illness, the benefits of early intervention, and the consequences of inaction. (Mental illness expresses itself in many ways, affecting many of us directly.) Please join us and bring your friends and neighbors. (This event was originally schedule in January, but was postponed due to weather.)

May 13 is a service of Music, Prayer & Praise, with musical inspiration of the psalms and offerings from various music groups–bells, Celebration! Choir, and more–throughout our worship service at 10am. (Hear about Strengthen the Church Offering in a Mission Moment during the service.)
