Gretchen Parker, Director of Bridges to Opportunity Program at Community Table (foodbank in Arvada) will be speaking about the Bridges to Opportunity Program at 8:30am on Sunday June 9 at First United.  The Bridges to Opportunity program was developed with five high quality program components that offer services and assistance that can result in life changing improvements. Services build on existing community resources whenever possible in an effort to educate clients on the rich community resources available to them and to encourage self-help and self-advocacy. Come join us!

Children (elementary age) and Youth (middle & high school age) are dismissed about 20 minutes into the service a combined Summer Sunday school. Nursery is provided for preschool age and younger children. Worship concludes about 11:00AM, with coffee and fellowship afterward.

You’re invited to Our Church Family Fun Night on Wednesday June 26, starting at 5:30pm. This is a potluck followed by games. We say “church family” so you know it’s for families of all shapes and sizes: singles, couples, families with children… Bring a dish to share and a favorite game to play with others. (We may set up some outdoor games, too. More on that to come later….)

Time to clean out those closets & jewelry boxes!  We will be having a women’s (teen and up – no children’s clothing) clothing exchange on Wednesday, July 17^th at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Bring items that are in good condition – clothes, shoes, scarves, jewelry, etc.  We’ll put everything on display and you can “shop” (no $$$ involved – just take what you like!) to your hearts content.  There is no limit to what you can take, you don’t even have to bring anything in order to shop.  We want this to be a relaxing time to get together, “freshen up” your wardrobe, move other items along and have a good time!  Snacks will be provided.
