Retreat Registration Due
Sep 8 @ 12:00 pm – 12:00 pm

The all-church Retreat to La Foret is Friday-Sunday, October 11-13. La Foret is about an hour and 40 minutes’ drive south of Arvada, just north of Colorado Springs in the Black Forest. We stay in cabins & eat meals in the Dining Hall, bringing food to share Friday evening and snacks to share for the weekend. We organize some craft activities for anyone who wants to participate. You’re also invited to bring board games and puzzles to share. We usually plan a group nature walk through the forest, a time to walk the large labyrinth together, but you’re also welcome to simply relax among the trees or read a book. It’s been a great time to visit with one another! Sunday morning we hold a worship service in the chapel. (There will also be a service at First United that morning.) Registration will be due Sept 8 with full payment by Oct 1. Adults: $100 for the weekend. Children age 3-17 $40, Under 3 are free. (Scholarships available.) Meals are included, except Friday night which is a potluck and/or some arrive after dinnertime.

Confirmation Orientation

Letters to families of confirmation-age kids should have arrived in homes by August 16, giving an idea of the plan and schedule for the year. Sunday Sept 8 at 5pm is an orientation meeting for parents/guardians and the confirmand. Talk to Pastor Karin K. for information.

Scrip Presentation
Sep 15 @ 11:15 am – 11:45 am

Scrip: Buy Gift Cards through the church (and help fund the church!)

Basically, you buy gift cards for things like restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, etc., through the church (there’s a long list), and the church receives a portion of the purchase cost. Your gift card is for the amount you purchase, so you’re not paying extra. You can use this as a budgeting tool for yourself, or give gift cards to friends and family, or teachers as a gift, and also benefit the church! Hear more after worship on Sept 15. Kathy Hine will be talking about it and answering questions.
