Gather for a simple meal of foods Jesus and his disciples may have eaten (pita bread, olives, nuts, hummus, water, a simple salad…). We’ll be together in fellowship, singing, candlelight and Holy Communion as we remember the night Jesus broke bread with his friends before his journey to the cross.
Easter Sunday is April 21! Join us for a Cantata of choral pieces and small ensembles of vocal and instrumental music tied together with a message by Pastor Karin interspersed between the music pieces. More on Easter activities coming soon!
The youth (middle & high school) will be hiding the filled eggs on Easter Sunday shortly before the Egg Hunt begins! Children about age 11 & younger are invited to participate in the egg hunt. Please bring a bag or basket for your children/grandchildren to collect the eggs.
With various leaders coming to the topic from their own strengths, each week is a different kind of look at the prophets, including…
-who today’s prophets are (April 14, 28)
-No class on Easter Sunday (April 21)
-spiritual psychology as a view on prophecy (March 31 & April 7)
-a look at poets and artists as prophets (March 17 & 24)
-Isaiah from the Bible (March 3, 10)
All are welcome.
Children (elementary age) and Youth (middle & high school age) are dismissed about 20 minutes into the service for Worship & Wonder and Youth Sunday school. Nursery is provided for preschool age and younger children. Worship concludes about 11:00AM, with coffee and fellowship afterward.

First United’s Annual Scholarship is open for applications. <a href=”https://www.arvadaucc.org/wp-content/uploads/Scholarship-Applicaton-2019.pdf”>Here’s the application.</a> The scholarship is available to anyone of any age who has completed at least high school by the time the award is to be used. Applicants must be a member of a family belonging to First United or sponsored by a member of First United. See application for additional details. The deadline for applications is Sunday April 28. The award will be announced in worship on May 19, the day we also recognize this year’s graduates and thank this year’s teachers.
This is the last Sunday of the Prophets Study. We’ll look at the minor prophets.

For the Adult Ed class on Sunday May 12 at 8:30am, guest Sheree Downs will share her knowledge about working with the homeless. She has an interesting perspective on homelessness, blessing bags, etc. and how to approach those you see. She’s part of the Jeffco Leadership Training.
