Candlelight Service & Live Nativity
Dec 24 @ 5:30 pm – 7:15 pm

A candlelight service with the Christmas story, music, and of course, candles begins at 5:30pm on Christmas Eve. For the conclusion of the service we follow Mary & Joseph outdoors to sing around the live nativity, which includes several live animals. (The animals and a shepherd or two arrive around  5:45pm & stay until 7:15pm-ish.) Cookies and hot cider follow the service.

Children (K-5th grade) stay for about the first 20 minutes of the service, then are invited to Worship & Wonder down the hall. Youth stay in worship this Sunday. Nursery is provided for preschool age and younger children for the full service. Worship concludes about 11:00AM, with coffee and fellowship afterward.

Adult Study: “On Tyranny” book

The Adult Study Class will begin a new study series on Sunday, January 5, 8:30am. We will read and discuss On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder. Books will be available on Sunday, December 29, courtesy of the Jefferson County Library!

Council Budget Meeting
Jan 11 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Council discusses and sets budget for 2020 based on pledges received from Stewardship campaign. This budget will be brought to the full congregation on January 26 at the Annual Congregational Meeting.

Congregational Input about By-Laws
Jan 11 @ 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

The Congregation is invited to give input on the Church By-Law Changes (related to the Board/Committee Restructure we’ve been implementing this year) in advance of or on Saturday January 11, 12:30-2pm. Copies of the most recent version of the By-Laws were emailed on Dec. 20, or printed out for members who don’t receive email. This is a time for Council to hear information BEFORE the Congregational Annual Meeting Sunday January 26.
