Bell Ringing in Columbarium

Worship (in person & on Zoom)-Advent: Love

First United Church of Arvada is open for in-person Worship in addition to offering our services over Zoom. For in-person services, masks are optional, though we’re encouraging mask-wearing during the holiday season due to the current high transmission rate of respiratory illness.  You’re also welcome to join us via Zoom if you feel more comfortable. The nursery is open.  Elementary age kids will be invited to leave the worship service partway through to attend Worship & Wonder.  Kids are always welcome in the sanctuary with you or, if you prefer, you can bring your child(ren) to the foyer and still participate in the service, but with some extra wiggle room.

Nativity Set Display

Share a favorite nativity set with the congregation on Sunday Dec. 18!  Arrive early with your Nativity Set to set it out on the tables we’ll have set up in the foyer.  Then stay after the service to look at the displays.  Finally, take yours home the same day.   (We’ll have refreshments after worship that day, too.) **Please let the church office know by Friday Dec. 16 if you’re bringing any Nativities so we’ll have enough table space.

Choir & Bell Choir Rehearsal

Enjoy singing but don’t want to solo? Join the choir! What if you don’t sing, but you want to participate in music in another way? Play handbells! Rehearsals for both the Celebration! Choir and the Peals of Praise bell choir are Sundays after worship. Contact Music Director Sue Wedaa for more information.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

On Christmas Eve, join us for a candlelight service with Christmas music and a visit from Mary & Joseph on their way to the stable. The service will be both in person and on Zoom starting at 5:30pm.

  • Who:  Anyone who cares about the future of First United Church of Arvada!–Members, Non-members, Youth, Adults, Staff
  • When: 8am Saturday Jan 14 & Saturday Jan 28 (pick one)
  • Time Commitment: 90 minutes to 2 hours on one of those Saturdays
  • What: Coffee/Tea + Pastries for Discussion about the Future of First United (using The World Cafe way of discussion & being together. More at https://theworldcafe.com/)
  • Why: First United has been has been impacted by the pandemic, economics, construction, its mission vs. the size of the church to do the mission, so we’re looking at what questions to ask about our future and how to move into that future.
  • Please RSVP to the church office with which date you’d like to attend
