Summer 2025–Pine Ridge Reservation Youth service trip
The Youth ages 12 and up are invited to a week-long service-learning and cultural immersion project on the Pine Ridge Lakota Reservation in the summer of 2025 (date TBD). Here’s an overview.
Once youths spots are reserved, adults from the congregation can sign up to chaperone. (Adults’ primary responsibility will be supporting a kid friendly and fun environment for the youth to engage in meaningful work). Max people is 14. Jean Bareis and Karin Gallup will be chaperoning.
While very reasonably priced, this trip is still expensive for families (around $775 for adult/youth volunteers plus transportation to the site that is about 6 hours away.) The cost includes lodging, 3 meals a day, cultural immersion
events, scheduled programming and organized volunteer work.
