Calendar
The current read for Book Club is The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare. We will meet to discuss it on Tuesday, September 9 at 1pm. Books are available for check out from the book kit on the Welcome Table. For information, contact the Church Office.
Beginning Sept. 14 we will reconvene at 8:30 am for “gathering time” and discussion starting promptly at 8:45 am. We will begin considering ideas in the book, The Serviceberry, subtitled “an economy of gifts and abundance” by Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass and Gathering Moss. Louise, Robbie, and Chuck believe this could inspire some discussion relevant to our times and our Christian responsibility to care for the earth and each other. The book is available at online used book sources and possibly local used bookstores. Also, at Target and Walmart for $11.90.
First United Church of Arvada is open for in-person Worship in addition to offering our services over Zoom. Request Zoom link here.
Children begin worship with their family, then partway into worship children will be invited to leave with their teachers for their classes. “Worship & Wonder” is for K-3rd grade children. “Engage & Explore” classes is for 4th-8th grade (and only meets about 3 Sundays a month). See the Ministry for Children page page for further descriptions of the classes. The nursery is available for children age 5 and under. And know that children are always welcome in the sanctuary with you!
