First United Church of Arvada

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here in our vital, loving community.

You are welcome to worship here, whether you are looking for a church home or are just visiting. There is sound amplification during the service and hearing assistance is available. There is also Church School for children and youth. A supervised nursery is available for the youngest children.

We are a United Church of Christ (UCC) congregation—a denomination with a proud tradition of being at the forefront of social change, such as:

Women in the ministry:

UCC was the first denomination to welcome women into the ministry.

Racial equality:

One of our first pastors at First United Church of Arvada joined hands with other ministers to protect African-American students from police during racial tensions in Selma, Alabama in the 1960s.

Social justice at home and abroad:

We keep our eyes open to injustice in our neighborhoods and around the world, and do whatever we can to help.

Equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people:

We are an open and affirming congregation and welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people to join our congregation. We believe that the worth of others comes from their uniqueness as individuals.

Vision Statement

Our extended Christian family is committed to:
  • supporting, ministering to, and caring for one another,
  • learning, living, and sharing the story,
  • nurturing succeeding generations,
  • praising God in joyful worship, and
  • following Christ's commandment to love one another by helping those in need.
